Tax Manager

Schechter Dokken Kanter is a mid-sized CPA firm with a huge opportunity. We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Tax Manager. Our Tax Managers act as the liaisons between our shareholders, our clients, and our professional staff. Managers are responsible for managing multiple tax projects and client engagements simultaneously, as well as scheduling, staffing and coordinating engagement workflow.

What you'll do every day...
• Responsible for tax engagements and client relationships.
• Review completed tax returns.
• Understand tax developments and implications on client’s business.
• Advise clients on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
• Comply with due dates and monitor time budgets of returns.
• Conduct and review in-depth specialty research.
• Participate in the billing and collection process.
• Compose IRS ruling requests and protests and conduct IRS audits.
• Participate in tax season strategy planning.
• Supervise the assignment of staff duties and direct preparation of tax returns.
• Develop department policies pertaining to tax practice.
• Complete performance reviews for Staff/Seniors.
• Execute marketing objectives including developing referral sources for new business.

What you bring to the table…
Minimum six years of progressive tax experience serving clients in a CPA firm. Experience in public accounting must be current. Strong technical and leadership skills. Dedication to managing multiple client engagements and providing exceptional client service. Bachelors degree in accounting and CPA required. MBT a plus. Proficiency in use of accounting and tax software programs and Microsoft Office.
