As we navigate responding to the pandemic over the next few days and weeks, the safety of our teams and clients will be our priority. We have systems in place and the tools to serve our clients while keeping our staff safe.
Our technology is cloud-based, meaning our servers are remote, and increasing the work done remotely, although it will take some time to adjust, will allow us to continue working. Staff who have not worked with remote tools as much have proactively tested their access.
We are encouraging fewer face to face meetings, if any at all. Clients may upload files electronically, communicate via phone or email, and maintain regular channels of communication beyond in-person meetings. Our office will continue to be open for those who have documents to drop off, however, beginning Wednesday, March 18, access to the floors beyond the lobby will be restricted.
The Federal and State governments have not yet changed any filing deadlines. SDK will maintain our “busy season” schedule as best as we can and, keep the pace based on the assumption that tax returns will be completed or extended by April 15.
We’ve encouraged contacting clients to develop a plan for all our ongoing engagements. We will respect any working provisions clients have made, and accommodate or modify work plans as needed.
We have communicated to our team members that if they have symptoms such as fever, sneezing, coughing, etc., they stay home. The same applies to team members whom the CDC considers to be at high risk or have family members at risk or with symptoms.
We all have a personal responsibility to keep ourselves, our family members and our co-workers safe. To that end, SDK will follow the recommendations of state and federal officials as we navigate this pandemic together.
Things are changing by the moment and all we can do is pay close attention and respond accordingly. We will continue to post updates on the steps SDK is taking as the situation evolves.
