The Small Business Administration issued new rules on Payroll Protection Program loans to partnerships and companies with seasonal employees. Normally once a PPP loan has been received it cannot be increased and a second loan is not allowed. However, the SBA is allowing partnerships to increase their PPP loan request amounts to include partner compensation as outlined in its April 14, 2020, guidance. Similarly, employers with seasonal employees can reapply to make use of SBA guidance released April 14 and April 28 if that will provide a larger loan amount.
